    WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is urging consumers to immediately replace or remove the latch and lock on recalled “Lane” and “Virginia Maid” brand cedar chests. The cedar chests were recalled because the chest’s lid automatically locks when the lid is closed. Fourteen children have suffocated to death inside these cedar chests after becoming locked inside between 1977 and 2015.

  • CPSC Urges Riders to Keep All-Terrain Vehicles Off Roads in New Public Service Announcement

    The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is launching a new public service announcement, urging riders to keep all ATVs – OFF paved public roads. Every year, there are about 650 deaths and 100,000 injuries involving ATVs, according to CPSC’s Annual Report. Nearly one-third (32%) of reported deaths, or at least 770 deaths (during a four-year period from 2010 to 2013*), were related to incidents involving ATVs being ridden on paved roads or parking lots.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and return them to any IKEA store for a full refund This recall involves IKEA 26 inch and 28 inch SLADDA bicycles. The recalled bicycles are a light grey and have an aluminum frame. IKEA is printed at the bottom of the seat tube near the crank.
